A Oui Bit of France

new obsession: france.  i love everything about it…well, minus some bad history, but hey, we don’t have the cleanest record either.  my infatuation started after finding one of my now favorite bloggers, garance doré.  then last week a dear friend and i went to a new french dessert salon in town called méridienne.  heavenly.  macarons, french-pressed coffee, croque monsieur, chocolate croissants…everything you’d want in a french bakery/restaurant.  now i’ve never been to france, but i’m hoping that by frequenting this little slice of europe in arkansas (can you even believe that?!), i’ll be content until my hus ever-so-romantically surprises me with my dream vacation. let’s just say i’ll have to be content with this place for a while.

{here’s my croque monsieur and apple radicchio salad}

what i love about france:

1. the french cuff.  i hate getting my pants hemmed because they always end up too short.  if the french can get away with rolling their pants, then so can i.

2. stripes.  obviously stripes are everywhere right now.  so here’s me pretending to be a french sailor…on a lunch break, of course.  yes, i shared it.  i’m wearing an old urban outfitters top, but i’m loving this one too.

{chocolate macarons and gâteau de ruche (bee hive cake)}

3. street style.  always ahead.  always spot on.

{here’s garance on her boyfriend’s blog.  she now lives in nyc, but is still 100% french}

{how effortless.  i could walk around paris in this outfit all day.  love the socks.}

{now here’s some high fashion…céline cape and givenchy bag.  love the white.

au revoir,

candy
